Age Calculator

--

How this age calculator works

Enter a date of birth. The calculator subtracts that year from the current year, then checks whether the birthday has already happened. If it has not, it subtracts one. The result is completed years as of today.

A person born on 1 January 2000 is 26 on 7 October 2026. A person born on 15 December 2000 is still 25 on that same day, because December has not arrived yet.

Age on 7 October 2026

Completed years only. The birthday itself counts as the new age.

Before you use this age

  • Completed years

26 years means the 26th birthday has already happened. It is not 26 years and a few months.

  • Today’s date

The result follows the date on your device. It does not lock to a form’s cut-off date.

  • Birthday counts

On the birthday, the age increases. The day before, you are still the previous age.

  • Months and days

Use the age difference calculator when you need years, months, and days together.

Frequently asked questions

  • How does this age calculator work?

Enter your date of birth. The tool compares it with today’s date and returns the number of full years you have completed. If your birthday has not come yet this year, that year is not counted.

  • Why does it show only years?

This page reports completed years. It does not split the remainder into months and days. For a gap such as 25 years, 4 months, and 12 days, use the age difference calculator and put today as the second date.

  • What if my birthday is later this year?

You stay at your last completed age until the birthday date. Someone born on 15 December is still 25 on 7 October if they turned 25 the previous December, and becomes 26 only on 15 December.

  • What about a 29 February birthday?

In a leap year, 29 February counts as the birthday. In other years, the year is counted once the calendar has passed February, because there is no 29 February to wait for.

  • Can I calculate someone else’s age?

Yes. Enter any date of birth. The result is their completed age as of today on this device. A future date can show a negative number, so use a birth date that is today or earlier.

  • Is this enough for a job, exam, or admission form?

Use it as a quick check. Forms often ask for age as on a specific cut-off date, not as on today. For that, use the age difference calculator with the cut-off date, and follow the date on the birth certificate.

This is completed age as of today. Career Bracket does not replace a birth certificate or an official age as on a cut-off date.
