Enter your semester SGPA on a scale of 0 to 10. The tool multiplies it by 10 and shows the equivalent percentage, a grade band, and how much of the scale that semester covers.
Percentage = SGPA × 10. An SGPA of 8.2 becomes 82.00%. An SGPA of 10 becomes 100%. This is a semester score, not your CGPA.
Quick reference for the 10-point semester scale. Your university may print a different conversion on the grade card.
| SGPA | Percentage |
|---|---|
| 6.0 | 60.00% |
| 7.0 | 70.00% |
| 7.5 | 75.00% |
| 8.0 | 80.00% |
| 8.5 | 85.00% |
| 9.0 | 90.00% |
| 9.5 | 95.00% |
| 10.0 | 100.00% |
SGPA changes every term. Do not paste it where a form asks for overall CGPA or aggregate percentage.
A high grade in a 4-credit subject lifts SGPA more than the same grade in a 1-credit lab.
If your college already prints a percentage, use that official number instead of this estimate.
CGPA × 9.5 is a different conversion. This SGPA tool uses × 10.
On a 10-point scale, multiply your semester SGPA by 10. Example: 8.4 SGPA × 10 = 84.00%. This calculator uses that formula.
SGPA means Semester Grade Point Average. It is the credit-weighted average of the grade points you earned in one semester only. It is not your overall college score.
SGPA covers a single semester. CGPA is the cumulative average of all semesters you have completed. A strong SGPA in one term can still sit next to a lower CGPA if earlier semesters were weaker.
Many universities convert a semester SGPA with Percentage = SGPA × 10. CBSE’s overall CGPA conversion is usually CGPA × 9.5. Use the formula printed on your grade card. Do not mix the two.
SGPA = (sum of credit × grade point for each subject) ÷ (sum of credits). A 4-credit subject affects the semester score more than a 2-credit subject. This page converts an SGPA you already have; it does not recalculate subject-wise marks.
Use it as a quick reference. Employers and universities usually want the official grade card. If the form asks for CGPA or an overall percentage, do not submit one semester’s SGPA as your final result.
This conversion is an estimate using Percentage = SGPA × 10. Career Bracket does not replace your university grade card.
